With a handheld portable scanner, the artist traces the surface of a discarded firework box in rhythms alternating between lingering caresses and hurried gestures. Rejecting a camera’s momentariness and aggressiveness, the scanner accumulates and reconstructs the divinity of objects with slow pixels, resurrecting time’s creases from the ashes and sublimating used remnants into a miniature theater of cosmology. Those circular holes on the pedestal emerge as time’s own pupil, resembling both wounds gashed by modernity’s relentless blade and silent ruins and altars after energy’s hilarity.
